Packing everything for Florida in one carry-on is no easy task. Do I ditch the cowboy boots, or just wear them to the airport? Joking (partially). I could always bring just one swimsuit and cover-up, but we all know that isn’t going to happen. I don’t quite know what to expect in Florida, enhancing the challenge of packing. Every frightful story my mom has told me involves the Orlando ER and ends with “I can’t wait to move back to Texas”. Mr. 305 describes a much different Florida full of women and dance parties. And I have been to Sarasota, the retirement capital of the US, which was beautiful and less exciting than both of the above.
What I do know is how to dress for traveling. The more layers, the warmer you are on the flight, and the less you have to pack! While I would love to be the chick in adorable wedges at the airport, that won’t be me. Even though I have lost most feeling in my feet from wearing heels and have a high tolerance for pain, I just wouldn’t feel right wearing heels in the airport. The day paparazzi finally discovers me, I might change my mind. For now chic comfort is my go-to.
Essential layering sweater – bold colors and patterns are a must. This sweater also feels like I would imagine a cloud would feel. I LOVE Red Dress Boutique and got the sweater I’m wearing there. I’m a sucker for their maxi’s and sweaters. Here is a cute one currently in stock, which I must have! http://www.reddressboutique.com/tops/sweaters/bb-dakota-room-board-cardigan.html
Wifey tee, compliments of Amyna Esmail and our attempt to be in a music video. Wifey T-shirt
Comfortable, crop denim – I’m partial to Paige denim. Their stretch denim and fit is perfect if you have some hip action going on. Nordstrom is my go-to for all things denim. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/paige-denim-jimmy-jimmy-crop-skinny-jeans-rebecca/3678563?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=60133980&fashionColor=&resultback=100&cm_sp=personalizedsort-_-searchresults-_-1_1_A

And diamonds go with everything (newly engaged y’all!). Check out this BLING (still gives me chills to think about).
While I will miss the fiancé and pups, and frankly worry that only pizza with be eaten by both parties for the next few days, I can’t wait to feel real sand (vs. gulf coast mud) in my toes.
